For Jamahl, an athlete and active-duty serviceman, a curiosity for the human body fueled his motivation to be a chiropractor. “I have a natural passion to want to help people,” said Jamahl. “There’s nothing more personal or healing than the human touch."
As a chiropractor, you have the capacity to change lives and touch souls. ”The word “chiropractic” means “to be done by hand.” Chiropractors use adjustments to restore joint function and support the nervous system. They help patients maintain optimal health while avoiding unnecessary drugs or surgery.
When I first came here, I didn't know much about the profession. But I'd say, by second quarter, it was almost like a light went on in my head, and I was like, oh, so this is what chiropractic is all about. And I actually became more passionate about it just because of the nature of our profession and about how we want to help people with our hands, and we want to do it naturally.
What motivated me to be a chiropractor was the very high respect and curiosity for the human body and how it works. And being an athlete my whole life and in the military, I've suffered a lot of injuries and come back from them. So, I just had this profound interest in rehabilitation.
I have a natural passion to want to help people. And there's nothing more personal or healing than the human touch. And as a chiropractor, you have that ability to touch lives, to change lives, and to touch souls, not only physically mending people but also emotionally, spiritually, and mentally as well.
